Navan Races: Saturday, 6th September 2025
1. 1.45 Irish EBF Auction Series Fillies Maiden
- Treasured Royal (IRE) (Age: 2)
- TimeWise Total: 277
- Odds: 11-4 (2.75)
- RP Rating: 80 (master), 80 (latest)
- Assessment: Treasured Royal showed good speed on an unfavoured far side during her Curragh debut, finishing a creditable fifth of 19. The spotlight suggests it would be no surprise if she improved enough to play a major role in this race and is taken to score. She was a 4,000euros breeze-up purchase, with her dam being an unraced sister to a 6f/7f 2yo winner.
- Silkie Sevei (IRE) (Age: 2)
- TimeWise Total: 266
- Odds: 14-1
- RP Rating: 98 (master), 78 (latest)
- Assessment: Silkie Sevei’s Dundalk run last month was an improvement on her turf debut, but the spotlight indicates that a good deal more improvement will be required in this race.
2. 2.15 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Rated Race
- Fresh Fade (IRE) (Age: 2)
- TimeWise Total: 331
- Odds: 5-2 (3.50)
- RP Rating: 90 (master), 86 (latest)
- Assessment: Fresh Fade was having her sixth start when winning a 6f auction maiden at Naas 13 days ago. She finished 3 lengths behind First Approach (second) when favourite for a five-runner Listed race at Tipperary, and is only one pound better off with that rival here.
- First Approach (IRE) (Age: 2)
- TimeWise Total: 310
- Odds: 2-1 (3.00)
- RP Rating: 94 (master), 82 (latest)
- Assessment: First Approach won a Naas maiden on her second start. She was well held in the Marble Hill and Windsor Castle, but finished second in a five-runner Listed event at Tipperary, 3 lengths ahead of Fresh Fade. She drops in grade after a Group 3 bid last Saturday. The spotlight suggests she has fair prospects of confirming the form of that Tipperary clash. Tongue-tie and blinkers are now fitted.
3. 2.45 Navan Racing Festival Early Bird Tickets On Sale Now Handicap
- Amicitia (IRE) (Age: 3)
- TimeWise Total: 270
- Odds: 5-1 (6.00)
- RP Rating: 78 (master), 71 (latest)
- Assessment: Amicitia showed promise in three maidens with plenty of pace. She made the running to the last half-furlong in a recent Curragh showing and is less exposed than most in this field. The spotlight suggests she may prove speedy enough from her high draw to step up from last week’s Curragh second.
- Verhoyen (Age: 10)
- TimeWise Total: 257
- Odds: 10-1
- RP Rating: 76 (master), 61 (latest)
- Assessment: Verhoyen is an eight-time winner, though his best form is over 6f/7f, with a 1-28 record over 5f being a negative. He was twice placed over 7f in recent months.
4. 3.20 Christmas Parties At Navan Racecourse On 6th & 14th December Handicap
- Gazelle D’Or (IRE) (Age: 3)
- TimeWise Total: 322
- Odds: 6-1 (7.00)
- RP Rating: 100 (master), 89 (latest)
- Assessment: Gazelle D’Or won twice in a busy juvenile campaign and has trained on well, winning two Curragh handicaps. She put in a creditable effort from out of the handicap last time in the Scurry Handicap, finishing fourth despite not having a clear run. She is back to 5f here and could perform well. The spotlight rates her a major danger.
- Little Queenie (IRE) (Age: 6)
- TimeWise Total: 310
- Odds: 5-1 (6.00)
- RP Rating: 102 (master), 90 (latest)
- Assessment: Little Queenie notched her seventh career win last week over 6f at Navan, rallying well to hold Nezeeh by half a length on easy ground. She has no problem dropping back to 5f and remains on a competitive mark.
5. 3.55 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden (Div 1)
- Therewillbeglory (IRE) (Age: 3)
- TimeWise Total: 281
- Odds: 15-8 (2.88)
- RP Rating: 94 (master), 81 (latest)
- Assessment: Therewillbeglory raced prominently when narrowly beaten by an experienced rival over 7f on debut at the Curragh. She underlined her winning potential by finishing second in a 19-runner 1m maiden at Naas, still appearing a little raw. She has an edge over Katashuna on Naas form and can also cope with Snapretend. The spotlight rates her as the top choice.
- Snapretend (IRE) (Age: 3)
- TimeWise Total: 261
- Odds: 5-1 (6.00)
- RP Rating: 82 (master), 35 (latest)
- Assessment: Snapretend showed improvement after a break when fourth behind a subsequent Listed winner over an extended 1m3f at Limerick. However, she was beaten by a filly with a modest rating over 1m at Bellewstown. This race looks tougher for her.
6. 4.30 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden (Div 2)
- Grecian Power (IRE) (Age: 4)
- TimeWise Total: 297
- Odds: 100-30 (4.33)
- RP Rating: 89 (master), 52 (latest)
- Assessment: Grecian Power outran 33-1 odds on debut at the Curragh in July, coming home strongly from well off the pace after a slow start to finish third over 7f. She shapes as if this longer trip will suit her, and the spotlight gives her the vote, ahead of the more exposed Joyful Princess and Treasure Rose.
- Treasure Rose (IRE) (Age: 3)
- TimeWise Total: 264
- Odds: 11-2 (6.50)
- RP Rating: 84 (master), 21 (latest)
- Assessment: Treasure Rose showed good form in her maiden runs over longer distances, finishing second over 1m2f at Navan in June and chasing home a clear winner over a similar trip at Gowran. While she is back in trip, she could perform well, although she may not want too much rain.
7. 5.00 Return Of The Jumps At Navan Racecourse September 20th Handicap (0-60)
- Thegooseiscooked (IRE) (Age: 8)
- TimeWise Total: 248
- Odds: 4-1 (5.00)
- RP Rating: 58 (master), 26 (latest)
- Assessment: Thegooseiscooked has been the most dependable horse in this field based on recent form, with a Cork third following a Gowran win. She was previously second at Tipperary and Leopardstown. The spotlight suggests she has an obvious chance if she can continue in the same form.
- Roderick (Age: 9)
- TimeWise Total: 234
- Odds: 10-1
- RP Rating: 61 (master), 19 (latest)
- Assessment: Roderick’s Naas success on his penultimate start was his first since 2023. He is more dependable than most in this race but might be better suited to a 1m trip, so this race could stretch his stamina.
8. 5.30 Lynn Lodge Stud Maiden
- Game Point (IRE) (Age: 3)
- TimeWise Total: 293
- Odds: 5-1 (6.00)
- RP Rating: 91 (master), 80 (latest)
- Assessment: Game Point was runner-up in five consecutive starts, including a neck defeat over this trip at the Curragh and Dundalk. He was disappointing in first-time cheekpieces at Dundalk (hanging), but the headgear has now been removed. He has form on soft ground, so rain should not be an issue. The spotlight considers him one of the contenders.
- Moon Reign (Age: 3)
- TimeWise Total: 290
- Odds: 15-2 (8.50)
- RP Rating: 81 (master), 53 (latest)
- Assessment: Moon Reign had an encouraging Galway debut last month, staying on late into a close fourth over an extended 1m. A longer trip here could bring significant improvement. He is closely related to 1m2f winner Crystal Mariner and is a half-brother to winners Crystal Caprice and Crystal Starlet. The spotlight also considers him a contender.
