3.00 Warwick – Jane Seymour Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2)🏇⤵️👇

·

Date: Saturday, 7th Feb 2026
Conditions: 2m3f, Heavy Ground
Verdict: Good Girl Kathleen (Win) / Park Princess (Next Best)
The feature at Warwick today is a proper stamina test. We have a Grade 2 over nearly 2 and a half miles, but with the ground officially Heavy, this will ride much further. Warwick is sharp, but in this mud, you need a mare who stays 3 miles.
Here is the breakdown of the key form lines and where the value lies.
The Irish Raider vs. The Haydock Trio
The race essentially boils down to two main angles: the Emmet Mullins raider and the three mares who fought out a Listed finish at Haydock in December.
1. The Class Act: Good Girl Kathleen (5/1)
Emmet Mullins sends this mare over from Ireland, and the form book suggests she is the one to beat. She is officially rated 133—the highest in the field by some margin (7lbs clear of the next best).
The Stamina Factor: She won a Grade 3 at Cork over 3 miles on Soft/Heavy ground in December. Dropping back to 2m3f on Heavy ground at Warwick is ideal; she will be finishing while others are paddling.
The Terms: She carries 11-9, giving 5lbs to most of the field. However, her rating suggests she has 7lbs in hand on Park Princess and Supreme Malinas. Strictly on numbers, she is “well in.”
2. The Haydock Re-match
We have a fascinating re-run of the Listed race at Haydock (49 days ago) involving Supreme Malinas, Park Princess, and A Path To Ronda.
The Result then: Supreme Malinas won, beating Park Princess by less than a length (Neck), with A Path To Ronda 1.5L back in 3rd. All carried 11-0.
The Weights today: Supreme Malinas carries a penalty (11-9). Park Princess and A Path To Ronda carry 11-4.
The Swing: Park Princess gets a 5lb pull for a defeat of less than a length. Mathematically, she should reverse the form with Supreme Malinas. Furthermore, looking at the Run Comments, Park Princess has a tendency to jump left (“jumped left 2nd”, “went left 2 out”). Warwick is a left-handed track; this return to a left-handed circuit is a massive plus for her.
The Others
White Noise (9/2): On a hat-trick and rated 128. However, her wins are at 2 miles. Stepping up to 2m3f in Grade 2 company on Heavy ground is a serious question mark regarding stamina.
Dream Shadow (10/1): Won nicely at Ayr on Heavy. Clearly handles the mud and is improving (rated 118), but finding 15lbs of improvement to beat the Irish mare is a big ask.
Kingston Queen (9/4): The current favourite. Consistent for David Pipe, but her form doesn’t look as robust as the Grade 3 winning form of Good Girl Kathleen. She seems under-priced.
The Verdict
The Emmet Mullins yard is lethal when targeting these UK prizes. GOOD GIRL KATHLEEN brings genuine Graded winning form over further trips on heavy ground. She is the highest-rated horse in the race and looks the solid play at 5/1.
For the forecast or an each-way saver, PARK PRINCESS (10/1) is the pick of the home contingent. She meets Supreme Malinas on 5lb better terms for a neck defeat and returns to a left-handed track that will suit her jumping mechanics perfectly.
Win: Good Girl Kathleen
Value: Park Princess
