16:54 Limerick – Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Pro/Am) Auction Bumper2m 200y | Soft to Heavy | 7 runners🏇⤵️👇

·

This looks a fairly ordinary Irish bumper and, with the pace forecast suggesting a very weak early gallop, the race may turn tactical. In small-field bumpers like this, proven ability and experience on testing ground often outweigh potential.
The one bringing the strongest piece of rules form is Jury Time. She has run twice at Limerick over the winter and both efforts were solid. Her latest run, when second of seven here last month on heavy ground, reads particularly well in the context of this race. She pulled clear of the remainder and shaped like a mare who simply bumped into a better one on the day. Importantly, she has already proven she handles the track and the testing conditions, which cannot be said for most of her rivals.
The main threat on paper is Border Lad, representing the Henry de Bromhead yard. He arrives with an appealing profile having won a point-to-point in January by a wide margin. That sort of performance often translates well to bumpers, and the market strength behind him is understandable. De Bromhead also won this race in 2024, which adds another positive. However, he is making his rules debut in deep ground, and that always introduces a degree of uncertainty.
Bois D’Angos showed ability when third on debut at Fairyhouse but looked green and was beaten twelve lengths in a small field. Improvement is likely, but he will need to take a sizeable step forward to trouble the principals.
Of the remainder, Alzurs Thunder is perhaps the most interesting outsider. A point winner, he was effectively out of the race after being kicked at the start on his bumper debut here last month. If putting that mishap behind him he could show more, though he still has plenty to prove.
Overall, this race appears to revolve around proven bumper form versus unexposed point form. With conditions extremely testing and the pace unlikely to be strong, experience around the track could prove decisive.
Selection: Jury Time
She sets the standard on bumper form, handles heavy ground, and has already run well twice at this venue. In a race lacking depth, that profile is difficult to oppose.
Is the selection bombproof?
So-so. Border Lad’s point-to-point win gives him obvious upside, but Jury Time is the most reliable option based on what has been seen under rules.
