6.30 Dundalk – Voice Of Reason the One to Beat🏇⤵️👇

·

A 1m4f handicap at Dundalk that revolves around a handful of proven course performers, and as is often the case at this venue, track experience counts for plenty. With ten runners declared and a moderate pace scenario likely, positioning and the ability to finish strongly should prove decisive.
The standout profile belongs to Voice Of Reason, a horse who has become a real Dundalk specialist. He has already won three times over this course and distance and arrives here in excellent order after finishing a close second over the same track and trip three weeks ago. That run confirmed he remains in peak form and the race set-up looks ideal again.
From a ratings perspective he sets the standard. His HRB figure is comfortably the best in the field, and when combined with his proven ability to quicken late at Dundalk, it makes him the most solid option in the race. The booking of 5 lb claimer H. J. Horgan is another positive, easing the burden of top weight.
The obvious danger is Daonethatgotaway, who finally got his head in front here two weeks ago after a string of consistent efforts. That win came over this very course and distance, but he only just held on and now has to contend with a 5 lb rise in the handicap, which may blunt his edge.
Beauparc also deserves respect. She has shaped much better the last twice and her recent third over further suggests she is coming back to form. Dropping back to 1m4f should suit and she remains well treated on old form.
Others are harder to warm to. Tassarolo may finish late if the race is run to suit but has yet to show much at Dundalk, while Autumn Twist returns from a lengthy break and Sir Callisto looks vulnerable after time off the track.
Everything considered, this looks a race where solid course form should come to the fore, and few in the line-up boast a Dundalk record like Voice Of Reason.
Selection: Voice Of Reason
Is the selection bombproof?
