3.47 Wetherby – Kalhandrion Holds the Tactical Edge🏇⤵️👇

·

This four-runner novices’ handicap chase at Wetherby may lack numbers, but tactically it looks straightforward. The Comment Shaper highlights a weak early shape with just one likely front runner, and that immediately puts Kalhandrion in a strong position.
The Hobson runner tops the HRB ratings by a clear margin (326.8) and also brings the best recent performance figure into the race. In a small field over 3m on good to soft, controlling the tempo can often be decisive, and Kalhandrion looks the most likely horse to get an uncontested lead.
The pace map predicts very little early pressure, with the rest of the field expected to sit off the speed. If that scenario plays out, Kalhandrion should be able to dictate over the 19 fences and turn this into a test of stamina, something his profile suggests will suit.
The Grey Man looks the main danger after winning last time, but his overall rating is notably lower and his running style suggests he’ll be played later from midfield. That risks giving the leader too much rope.
Eaton Anne has the strongest late finishing profile in the race, but being held up in a four-runner contest is rarely ideal. Without a proper pace to aim at, his finishing kick could come too late.
Jack To Bat appears to have plenty to find on both ratings and recent form.
In short, the race sets up nicely for the favourite. With the best figures and the likely tactical advantage, Kalhandrion looks the one they all have to beat.
