The 7.00 at Wolverhampton🏇⤵️👇

·

This is a typical low-grade classified where ability is thin on the ground and tactics are likely to decide the outcome.
On raw figures, Marinakis sets the standard. He tops the HRB ratings comfortably and has the profile of a strong finisher, often doing his best work late. Under normal circumstances, that would make him the obvious play. The issue here is the race setup. The Comment Shaper flags a complete lack of early pace, with no confirmed front runner and very little pressure expected. In races like this, hold-up horses are often left with too much to do.
That brings the focus onto Lady Delila. She’s not as strong on ratings but is far better suited tactically. A natural prominent racer, she should be able to sit handy or even take this up in a steadily run race. At Wolverhampton, especially in this grade, that can be a decisive edge. She’s consistent enough and doesn’t rely on a strong pace to be effective.
The rest look much of a muchness. Saved Lizzie and Marisitta both have bits of late form but are likely to be played from off the pace, which is a negative given the projected shape. Celebrating Ethel and others look exposed and unreliable in a race that won’t take much winning.
In truth, this is less about finding the best horse and more about siding with the one who gets the run of the race. Everything points towards a tactical affair, and that plays firmly into the hands of Lady Delila.
Verdict: Lady Delila (IRE)
Confidence: Medium
