The top 3 horses to consider in this race are Azazat, Boogie Woogie, and Star Galaxy. Azazat showed plenty of promise in her debut at the Curragh and with the longer trip promised to suit, she has sound claims to win this race. Boogie Woogie also has a solid chance to run well, as she has put in two solid efforts in back-end maidens last season and is bred in the purple. Star Galaxy, who made a nice debut at this course in October and shaped like a middle-distance filly, should also progress and could potentially challenge for a place.
All Time Great, a beautifully bred filly with entries in the Irish 1,000 Guineas and Irish Oaks, could also be a contender, but she may need more experience and improvement to win this race. The other horses in the field have shown less promise or have limited experience, so they are unlikely to factor in the outcome.
Overall, Azazat appears to be the standout horse in this race, with the potential to build on her promising debut and win this contest. Boogie Woogie and Star Galaxy are both strong contenders and could finish in the top three if they run to their potential.

The top 3 horses to consider in this race are Harsh, The Black Tiger, and Walsingham.
Harsh has shown promise in both of his starts, finishing second on debut and then just half a length behind the winner in his second outing. With his pedigree and Irish Derby entry, he looks like a horse with plenty of potential and is likely to improve further.
The Black Tiger, a half-brother to several winners including a dual Group 3-winning dam, is also an interesting contender on debut. By the Triple Crown winner Justify, he has a lot of class in his pedigree, but the testing ground may not be in his favor.
Walsingham, a brother to a Group 3 winner for the yard, showed potential on his second start when fourth in a maiden at Naas. He could improve for the step up in trip and with his connections entering him in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and Irish Derby, he may be one to watch in the future.
Duke Cador also has potential based on his third-place finish at Gowran in October, while Dubawi Delight has an excellent pedigree with his siblings including several stakes winners, but both will need to show more improvement to challenge the top contenders in this race.
Overall, Harsh looks like the most likely winner, with The Black Tiger and Walsingham as potential challengers. However, as with all horse races, anything can happen on the day, and any of the horses in the field could surprise and win the race.

In this competitive 1m2f handicap, there are several horses that have a realistic chance of winning. Cristal Clere will be a tough nut to crack after winning convincingly over the same distance and ground just three days ago. Although he carries a 7lb penalty, he is still fairly treated and should be in the mix again.
Smooth Tom ran well last season and finished with a creditable fourth off this mark on heavy ground at Navan. He should be ready to go on his seasonal reappearance and could improve further this year.
New Hill was narrowly beaten by a very progressive rival over this trip at Naas last season on heavy ground and is well-handicapped to compete. He has a good chance if he’s fit after five months off.
Of the others, Anycity could be interesting as the second reserve. He ran creditably over the same distance and ground at Navan last week after a long absence and could improve for that run.
In conclusion, Cristal Clere, Smooth Tom, and New Hill are my top three selections for this race. They are all capable of running well on this type of ground and should be in the mix for the win.

Buckaroo is a talented colt who won the Tetrarch Stakes impressively at the Curragh last May before disappointing in the Irish 2,000 Guineas. He has been off the track for 10 months but runs well fresh and is a Tattersalls Gold Cup entry. He is likely to be in the mix here. Georgeville has consistently run in stakes company without being good enough and will likely find this tough.
Helvic Dream won the Tattersalls Gold Cup last year but mostly disappointed in his subsequent runs, including a poor effort at Naas on his final start. He has the ground in his favour but looks up against it over this trip on last year’s form.
Homeless Songs is a very smart filly who was in peak form last spring, winning the 7f 1,000 Guineas Trial here on debut before bolting up in the Irish 1,000 Guineas. She had an interrupted campaign afterwards and disappointed in the autumn, but she is the one to beat here, despite the ground not being ideal.
Hotter Than Hades won a Killarney maiden on soft ground over 1m3f last year but was soundly beaten on her seasonal debut at Naas and drops back in trip here. Mea Domina is a dual winner in France, including a heavy ground Listed contest at Saint-Cloud. She debuts for Paddy Twomey here, and it will be interesting to see how she fares in the market.
Power Under Me is a smart gelding who won the Knockaire Stakes here in October when stepping up to 1m for the first time, and he won first-time out last season. He has the tongue strap on for the first time and has a chance to beat a few of these.
Saltonstall is an admirable performer who ended last season arguably as good as ever, with handicap successes here and at Tipperary, and carried that over when beaten in the last stride in the Lincoln at the Curragh. The trip and ground are perfect, and he could well go close again.
Based on their past performances and physical attributes, my top three horses for this race are Homeless Songs, Saltonstall, and Buckaroo. Homeless Songs is a very smart filly and sets a high standard, but the ground may not be ideal. Saltonstall is an admirable performer, and the trip and ground are perfect for him. Buckaroo is a talented colt who won impressively at the Curragh last May and runs well fresh, so he could make his presence felt here.

This is a competitive maiden with a lot of lightly raced and unexposed types. Fleetfoot sets the standard based on his consistent efforts in maidens last season and being a dual Classic entrant. He’s sure to win races, and the form of his last race has been boosted since. Farnborough looks the main danger to the favourite, having shown improvement from his debut when finishing a close second in a Dundalk maiden last November. With Ryan Moore booked to ride, he has a good chance of landing this race. Sharlouk showed promise on debut in a competitive maiden at Leopardstown last October and could step up here if he handles the ground.
Based on their breeding, Beau Pimpernel, Gorta, Monitola, and Teton Sioux all have potential to improve over time, and the market should provide clues about their chances. Canute could also improve with blinkers on after a promising debut last year.
My top 3 picks for this race are:
- Fleetfoot
- Farnborough
- Sharlouk

In this 7-furlong handicap race, there are several contenders with decent chances. Here’s my assessment of the runners:
All Lies Ahead: He’s a promising type who has won one of his three starts last year. He hasn’t run since June but is unexposed and has shown a liking for soft ground. He could be shortlist material if he’s fit enough.
Cavallo Pazzo: He’s a progressive type who won a 6f Naas maiden convincingly on heavy ground last year. He makes his handicap debut here and should improve for this extra furlong. He’s definitely a contender, especially with the soft ground in his favor.
Gegenpressing: He’s inconsistent, but his mark is down to only 2lb above his last winning rating. He handles soft ground well, and if he’s in the mood, he could run well at a decent price.
Hightimeyouwon: He won a handicap at Dundalk in January and has run respectably in two subsequent runs. He handles soft ground well and is one to consider.
Loingseoir: He won a 1m Curragh handicap in October and was a good third in a 1m handicap at the same venue just three days ago. He’s equally effective over this trip and has a talented 10lb claimer on board. He’s a definite contender.
Majestic Colt: He’s winless in Ireland after 18 starts but ran well in a couple of premier handicaps last year. He’s down to a more competitive mark and could be competitive on the soft ground, but his overall form is a concern.
Safari Quest: He won a Gowran maiden last year and was off until finishing ninth in a Naas handicap last month. He’s likely to come on for that run, but he might find a few too good.
Superior Force: He returned from a long absence to run well in a 1m Curragh handicap last month, and the blinkers could sharpen him up. With a talented 7lb claimer on board, he has a leading chance.
Toriangel: She won at Dundalk in October, but her form has tailed off since then. She’s back on turf here but probably wants better ground.
Transcendental: He ran well on heavy ground over 6f at Naas last month, and the step up to 7f should help. However, he might need further than this trip.
Zephron: He has a preference for soft ground but is winless in 15 starts since last year. He’s probably best watched on this occasion.
My top three selections for this race are Loingseoir, Cavallo Pazzo, and Superior Force. Loingseoir ran well just three days ago and should be equally effective over this trip, while Cavallo Pazzo is a progressive type who won convincingly on heavy ground last year and should improve for this extra furlong. Superior Force returned from a long absence to run well last month and has a talented 7lb claimer on board. All three have a good chance of winning, but Cavallo Pazzo is my narrow top selection.

This is a competitive handicap with a lot of horses in with a chance. Some have been consistent performers on this type of ground, while others may be unexposed or potentially well handicapped.
One horse that stands out is Pulse of Shanghai, who ran a good race over 5f at Navan last week and has proven form on testing ground. The step up to 7f may suit and he looks to have a strong chance.
Rock Etoile is another interesting contender. He has shown form on soft ground before and ran well behind a subsequent Listed winner at Gowran last year. He should be better for his recent run at Dundalk and could be well handicapped.
Barnhill Rose has been consistent and won over 1m at Naas last year. She is well handicapped on her best form and could go well fresh without her usual headgear.
Of the others, Sadiqaa could be interesting on his first run for a new yard with Colin Keane booked. He has shown form on heavy ground before and could be well treated if he rediscovers his old form.
Overall, Pulse of Shanghai looks to be the pick of the bunch and is the selection to win the race. Rock Etoile and Barnhill Rose could be the biggest dangers, while Sadiqaa is one to keep an eye on in the market.

There are 16 horses declared for this race, with three reserves. Let’s take a closer look at each horse:
- Bringsty: This horse has been running well since joining the current yard and has won on soft ground before. He also ran well on soft ground at Navan last autumn. Becoming well handicapped, he is a leading contender.
- Ernest Loring: This horse has shown modest form on the Flat and performed poorly on his hurdling debut. He is unlikely to be in the mix.
- Farnese: This horse has won at Dundalk but his turf form is moderate. He is back from a break and has cheekpieces added, which could help him, but he may struggle.
- Fire Coral: A lightly raced filly who has been well beaten in her maidens and is making her handicap debut after a long layoff. She is well bred and may be capable of better, but it’s hard to assess her chances.
- Gentleman Jimmy: This horse has shown modest form in maidens and struggled on his handicap debut. He is unlikely to be in contention.
- Gudrun Genberg: This horse showed promise when touched off at Navan in October and may have found the race coming too soon when running at Killarney just five days later. She is still quite unexposed and could be a danger.
- Lord Park: This horse has regressive form but likes soft ground. He was only 5-1 for a Curragh handicap in October and is now 5lb lower. He may be capable of running well and cannot be ruled out.
- Nevada Brave: This horse has been a consistent performer on the all-weather, winning at Dundalk in January. He finished third in a handicap at the same track in February and could be a danger if he handles the testing ground.
- Neverfindanother U: This horse has been progressive at Dundalk and won over 1.5f farther there last month. He is now 8lb higher in the weights but his trainer thinks he will handle the ease in the ground. He has a good chance.
- Numidia: This horse won at Dundalk in January and was a head off the runner-up Neverfindanother U over an extended 1m2f there next time. He has some form on soft ground and could be a danger.
- Out On Friday: This horse has won three times and has form on heavy ground. He was touched off over C&D last August and won at Gowran next time. He is capable of taking a hand in this but lacks a recent run.
- Rockview Roman: This dual all-weather winner has run well on testing ground in the autumn and is fit from hurdling. He is a reserve but could be a danger if he gets in.
- Selective Power: This horse won at Dundalk in November and steps up in trip on his yard debut. He is unproven on the ground and may need the run.
- Shona Mea: This horse has been consistent at Dundalk and won three times on good ground. She may not want it this testing and lacks a recent run.
- Tara Power: This horse hasn’t built on her sole win at Dundalk in late 2021 but has some fair soft ground form. She was over 6l behind Neverfindanother U at Dundalk last month but is 10lb better off this time.
- Tashim: This horse remains a maiden after 17 Flat runs but possibly needed the run on his first outing since leaving his previous trainer when ninth of 14 in a handicap at Dundalk. He is back up in trip and could improve.
Here are my top 3 picks for the race:
- Bringsty – This horse has been running well since joining this yard and has won on soft ground before. He is becoming well handicapped and should remain competitive in this race.
- Nevada Brave – This horse has been consistent on the AW and won over 1m2f at Dundalk in January. While testing ground is an unknown, he has the potential to make his presence felt in this race.
- Theophilos – This lightly-raced horse has shown promise in maidens and may come alive in handicaps. He is well treated off 61 and the yard had a handicap debutant win at this venue on Sunday.
Overall, Bringsty looks to be the most solid pick based on his recent form and past performance on soft ground. Nevada Brave is also a strong contender and could surprise if he handles the testing ground. Theophilos has potential and could be a good value pick, especially if he improves on his previous performances.
