Pace & Draw Angles
This long-distance Group 1 rarely features a furious tempo early, but 2025’s renewal suggests a strong pace with several front-runners or prominent racers: Presage Nocturne, Sevenna’s Knight, and Dubai Future could press on. In a staying test on soft ground at Longchamp, those who conserve energy and stay well are typically favoured, especially from midfield draws where they can settle early.

Strongest Contenders
Sevenna’s Knight [TFR 114] – 9/10
Andre Fabre’s Camelot colt is back up in trip, which looks ideal after two good runs at 12f+ this spring. He was third in the Royal-Oak over 1m7½f last autumn, and that stamina test remains his best effort to date. Ran close to peak form last time and trainer has a good record in this division. Ground and trip suit ideally.
Double Major – 8/10
Wertheimer runner with consistent form, including when narrowly second to Internaute in the Prix de Barbeville. Well-bred and honest type, also ran second to Sevenna’s Knight last term. Conditions suit and shaped as if more to come at this staying trip.
Dubai Future [TFR 117] – 8/10
Group 1 Dubai Gold Cup winner at Meydan and unbeaten in two runs this year. Has long been talented and can go well fresh, but soft ground may blunt his usual finishing speed. Blinkers applied for the first time and he will need to stay every yard here.

Main Dangers
Trueshan [TFR 114] – 7/10
Top stayer at his peak and multiple Group 1 winner, especially potent with cut underfoot. That said, this is his first start since October 2024 and he may need this to sharpen up. Conditions suit but others are race-fit and progressive. Watch the market closely.
Internaute – 7/10
Lightly raced 4yo with a strong staying pedigree (Sea The Stars x Solemia). Won well at 1m7f latest and is open to further improvement. Needs to settle early but clearly stays and is going the right way. A lively one for each-way lists.

Interesting Outsiders
Candelari – 6/10
Frankel gelding who’s taken well to staying trips and is 2-2 this year, though in slightly lesser company. A more testing Group 2 asks a bigger question but he’s progressive. Could find the top 4 with a strong pace to aim at.
Presage Nocturne – 6/10
Won a minor staying race last month but has more to find at this level. May help force the pace, and has place potential if the leaders aren’t taken on too hard.
Passion And Glory – 5/10
Reliable but exposed 9yo. Ran his race when second in Dubai earlier this year but has found it tough in better company recently. Better judged on conditions that favour speed.
Rouge Sellier [TFR 105] – 4/10
Prescott-trained filly with one standout piece of Listed form but generally held in stronger races. May struggle to stay truly at this level, though 4th in Prix Chaudenay gives some hope.

Summary
An intriguing edition of the Prix Vicomtesse Vigier, where Sevenna’s Knight appeals most returning to this trip and ground, with Double Major and Dubai Future closely matched in behind. Trueshan commands respect but may need the outing, while Internaute is an improving type worth considering for each-way players. The front end should go a decent clip, which may play into the hands of those finishing strongly from midfield. Keep an eye on support for those returning off breaks.
