19:30 Bellewstown – Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle (0–100, 2m 4f 110y, 4yo+, Good)

·

Pace Angle: Even pace forecast, though prominent racers are usually favoured at this track. That puts a tactical positive on O’ Bon Pardon, while habitual hold-up types like The Border Boy may need the race to collapse late.
Draw Bias: Not applicable over hurdles, but positioning and field flow are key – particularly for riders claiming weight.

Race Preview

This is a wide-open 19-runner handicap with many exposed or regressive types, but a few with upside in the basement grade. Klassman has become a model of consistency and was just touched off at Limerick last time (head second). He’s a strong stayer and arrives in peak form.

Cois Fharraige is also in form, with a third at Sligo suggesting a win is within reach from his current mark. He’s switched yards since and has been more reliable in big fields.

The Border Boy caught the eye at Tramore, running better than he has in over a year, but his usual hold-up style means he’s reliant on things falling right.

Dee’s Getaway showed a revival at Tramore in a similar race, and while modest overall, she has found her level. Tea It Is ran well at Sligo and is very lightly raced for his age – the 21-month layoff before this season’s return means he could still have more to come.

Of the improvers, Glens Sensation is a potential springer. The Fahey yard is adept with handicap debutants, and while his form in maidens is negligible, this trip and scenario could bring him forward.

Garnacho was third in a stronger race when last seen, is proven over further, and represents a trainer with two wins in this race since 2022. Market watch is advised off a 246-day break, especially given his new stable.
