This is a deep 20-runner 3yo sprint, but the shape looks the key. Comment Shaper flags an extreme/very strong pace, with five likely front-runners and a high collapse risk. That makes me wary of pure pace horses unless they are clearly ahead of the handicapper.

Hallo Spaceboy tops HRB TimeWise Master, which deserves respect, but his Comment Shaper profile is only mid-division with low confidence and no strong late-finisher tag. He is solid, not bombproof.

Arry Up is the one I keep coming back to. He is HRB rank 2, which is highly relevant, and arrives thriving after completing a hat-trick. He beat Hallo Spaceboy at Kempton and, although 5 lb higher, Timeform still expects him to go well. The big positive is that Comment Shaper also marks him as a strong late finisher, despite often racing forward. In a strongly-run 6f, that blend of tactical speed and finishing strength could be decisive.

Moscow Power is Timeform’s pick and could be well treated on handicap debut, but HRB has him only 11th, which is a concern under this ratings approach. Secret Santa has ability and is HRB rank 3, but returns from 336 days off, so there is risk. Blue Orbit and Wedonttelllies are interesting closers, but sit too low on HRB to be primary selections.

Past winners show this race can go to improving 3yos at fair prices, and Arry Up fits that profile neatly. No major equipment edge stands out for him, but others have more negatives: Sizzling Seixas has a hood, Rogue Temptation retains cheekpieces, and Who Is Alice has changed yards.

Self-critique: I may be underrating Hallo Spaceboy as the HRB top-rated horse, but Arry Up has stronger overall alignment between form, race shape and current progression.
