3yo only, 5f, turf handicap, good to yielding with rain around. 12 runners. Each-way terms allow four places.
A stiff Curragh 5f should suit strong-travelling 5f/6f types. Rain is important: Allsortz, Bad Boy Rizz, Amiata and Cool Azul have already shown form with ease. Low-to-middle draws can be handy here, but pace matters more than stall number. Allsortz is the obvious pace angle from stall 11; if he gets across comfortably, he is dangerous. Hold-up or awkward types will need luck in running.
Main contenders
Bad Boy Rizz – 8.5/10 p
Progressive, consistent, and shaped as though this stiffer 5f would suit when third behind Allsortz at Cork. Proven with cut, well treated enough, and Dylan Browne McMonagle is a positive. Strong win player.
Allsortz – 8/10 p
Progressive front-runner, won well at Cork and handles soft. The concern is stall 11 and whether he has to work too hard early. Still a major danger.
Amiata – 7.5/10
Solid handicap form, beat Bad Boy Rizz over 6f at Naas and was close enough behind Allsortz at Cork. Proven, reliable, and Colin Keane booked. Slight query whether others have more improvement.
Cool Azul – 7.5/10 P
Lightly raced, promising, rain no issue, and now handicapping from a workable-looking mark. Has speed for 5f but may still be learning. Market watch advised.
Ipanema Queen – 7/10
Classiest on peak form and a Curragh 5f Listed winner, but two below-par runs this year and may not want too much rain. Handicap debut off top weight asks a question.
Dangers and outsiders
Real Encounter – 7/10 p
Better than the bare Naas run and remains lightly raced. Needs to prove she is up to this grade but not dismissed.
Focaccia – 6.5/10 P
Promising profile and first handicap run, but 3lb wrong and cheekpieces suggest some quirkiness. Interesting outsider rather than solid.
Sparky Sparky – 6/10
Nicely weighted on best soft-ground Cork maiden run. Handicap debut gives hope, but recent efforts are only fair.
Shadow Run – 5.5/10
Has ability and visor may sharpen him, but 4lb wrong and needs to settle/finish better.
Sovereign Cry – 5/10
AW form is respectable, but turf and easing ground are concerns.
Tornado Kiss – 4.5/10
Good juvenile maiden form, but recent runs leave her with something to prove.
Fox In Flight – 4/10
Dundalk form gives him a chance on ratings, but Cork return was poor and soft turf is a worry.
