A competitive Class 4 sprint on the evening at Windsor, with several proven course specialists taking on an unexposed three-year-old in what promises to be a strongly run six furlongs on good-to-firm ground.

Amazonian Dream heads the market after finishing runner-up over this course and distance on his last two visits. Rod Millman’s seven-year-old was unlucky not to go even closer when denied a clear run here last week and, with Oisin Murphy again in the saddle, another bold bid looks assured if the gaps appear at the right time.

Course specialist Lequinto is impossible to ignore. The veteran boasts eight Windsor victories and arrives in excellent heart after a decisive course-and-distance success three weeks ago. A 5lb rise asks a tougher question, but his affinity for the track means another prominent showing is highly likely.

Top weight Buccabay returns from a four-month absence but has an excellent record when fresh and is already a multiple winner over this course and distance. If fully tuned up, he has the class to play a leading role despite conceding weight all round.

One of the more intriguing runners is An Outlaw’s Grace, who has shaped well in two recent starts at Windsor. Richard Hannon’s four-year-old is beginning to look well treated and could be poised to capitalise if building on his encouraging course form.

The least exposed contender is Visually. The three-year-old won on debut last autumn and may have needed his first start of the season when sixth over this track and trip on handicap debut. With just three career starts, further improvement is entirely possible, making him a fascinating challenger against more exposed rivals.

Em Four needs to bounce back after three below-par efforts, while Independent Expert and Dontspoilasale both have plenty to prove on recent form.

With several habitual front-runners in the field, a strong early pace looks likely. That could set the race up perfectly for the closers, particularly Amazonian Dream, whose finishing effort has been one of the standout features of his recent runs.

Verdict: Amazonian Dream is taken to gain compensation for a luckless defeat last time and finally get his head back in front. Lequinto should once again make a bold bid at his favourite venue, while the lightly raced Visually appeals as the horse most capable of taking a significant step forward.
